The staff began to look forward to the Dundies ceremonies, both for the entertainment value and sometimes recognition of their work as well as the night out on Dunder Mifflin. Michael Scott was so proud of the Dundies that he advertised the awards night to prospective employees at a job fair to generate further interest in a career with Dunder Mifflin.

An interesting perk for office workers at Dunder Mifflin is the apparent ability to just create a new position with a higher salary when a sales position wasn't quite working out. That's how it worked for Pam, who tried her hand at sales after leaving her receptionist's position, though she wasn't sure what to do when she wasn't cutting it as a salesperson.

Pam took advantage of the confusion that came with Dunder Mifflin's sale to Saber to position herself as the newly-created office manager, an administrative job with a higher salary than she previously had. Even when she was almost caught for her ruse, she managed to bluff her way into the actual position that she held for the remainder of the series.

A number of employees were even involved with affairs involving other co-workers, like when Dwight and Angela were sleeping together during her engagement to Andy. The highest-profile scandal at Dunder Mifflin was undoubtedly the affair between Oscar and Angela's state senator husband that caused a media frenzy.

5 There Are A Few Different Exclusive Clubs And Committees

The Finer Things Club was started by Oscar, Pam, and Toby to celebrate fancy foods, literature, and art. Unfortunately, The Finer Things Club is incredibly exclusive and not welcoming to new members, as both Andy and Jim discovered.

There is also the Party Planning Committee, which is an aptly-named office group responsible for taking care of all the birthday, anniversary, and holiday parties celebrated at Dunder Mifflin. However, the group was usually locked in a power struggle between Angela and Phyllis that potentially sucks the fun out of the group.

Security at the workplace is important for employees looking for a new place to spend large chunks of their life. Thankfully, Dunder Mifflin has an incredibly dedicated employee named Dwight Schrute who took it upon himself to better prepare the office for all kinds of potential situations.

Dwight not only hid weapons around the office, but he also carried out dangerous but hilarious improvised fire drills that kept the staff on their toes. When he took over as manager he even installed a high-tech security entrance from a jewelry store, though it backfired when he was denied entrance.

3 There Are A Number of Fun Games To Be Played During Office Hours

Some jobs have developed unique games and time-wasters that get passed down to new employees over the years, and Dunder Mifflin has a few fun games that are usually improvised by Jim on the spot in his efforts to prank Dwight.

However, he is also responsible for organizing a few of these games from around the office into an Olympics-like event for the employees to play while Michael and Dwight were away for the day. Some of the games that appeared at the Office Olympics were "Dunderball," "Who Can Put The Most M&Ms In Their Mouth?" and a "Flonkerton" race that saw medals awarded to the victors.

2 Employees Could Potentially Meet The Love Of Their Life At Work

It isn't always the best decision to become romantically involved with someone you work with as Michael Scott learned when he began dating his superior Jan. However, there were a number of positive relationships that developed at Dunder Mifflin.

The show focused on the developing romance between Jim and Pam that led to marriage with children, though other characters found love as well. Phyllis married Bob Vance from Vance Refrigeration who kept offices in the same building as Dunder Mifflin, Michael Scott left the show with his love Holly Flax, and Dwight and Angela were also married in the final season.

1 It's Almost Impossible To Get Fired By Human Resources

Toby Flenderson was the main Human Resources representative for Dunder Mifflin at the Scranton branch, though he shared the role with Holly Flax during her time there as well. He was responsible for filing a huge number of complaints with the corporate office which could have resulted in terminations, though he rarely moved things beyond his desk.

Michael Scott also got so close with his employees that he always found it difficult to fire them and usually found ways around it. Oddly enough, he also took great pleasure in fake firing people to see their reaction which resulted in tears on at least one occasion.
