According to Brian Baumgartner, who portrayed Kevin Malone on NBC popular sitcom The Office, there was plenty more story planned for the finale that eventually got cut, including more background into Kevin's post documentary plans.

In a recent interview with Metro.uk, Baumgartner explained that series developer Greg Daniels had potentially four hours worth of scenes written for the finale, which would have included fans of Kevin Malone helping him get the bar he comes to own. "There were scenes that were shot that didn’t make it, because of time, about him (Kevin) becoming kind of a cult fan favourite based on the fictional documentary that aired," Baumgartner said.

Baumgartner made his first appearance as the slow-witted account Kevin Malone in The Office's first episode, which debuted on NBC back in 2005. He would go on to appear as Malone in every season of The Office, before the series ended in 2013. Notably, Kevin Malone is the counterpart to Keith Bishop in the original UK The Office series by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

Meanwhile, it's been mentioned that a The Office reboot was planned to premiere on NBC's Peacock, however, the streaming site's President of Original Content Bill McGoldrick recently said "we have not talked specifically about The Office reboots for Peacock." McGoldrick did tease that a reunion special could eventually release.

Currently, all seasons of The Office are streaming on Netflix in the United States and will premiere on Peacock in January 2021.
