The Office is widely regarded as one of the most hilariously entertaining mockumentary sitcoms to date. It has an enduring quality embodied in the memorable characters throughout the series. The show is packed with witty humor and unforgettable scenes.
Whereas many shows have to cut content to improve an episode's pacing, The Office producers were tasked with whittling down hours of hilarious footage and cramming it all into 30-minute episodes. Fortunately, countless deleted scenes from the series were released, which helped provide a deeper context to the show. These deleted scenes will have fans of the series excitedly booting up The Office for a rewatch. The following may contain spoilers for The Office TV series.
10 Creed Lives in the Office
Creed's character develops into somewhat of an enigmatic pariah with questionable connections throughout the series. His frequent disassociation from the reality around him is the source of countless hilarious moments in The Office.
A deleted scene from "The Coup," Creed reveals that he lives in the office several days a week and sleeps under his desk. He also humorously mentions that he has a permanent residence in Toronto, that doesn't know about his office job because they're "a welfare state."
9 Michael's Homemade Apology Videos
Michael Scott is known for his ability to make others uncomfortable, often offending those around him. In a deleted scene from "Product Recall," Pam becomes the unwilling cinematographer for some of Michael's homemade apology videos.
The scene shows several of his past apology videos, each more ridiculous than the last, including a belated birthday message to his mother and a video to his condo association, apologizing for swimming naked in the public pool.
8 Phyllis Gives a Raunchy Wedding Toast
Dwight and Angela's wedding in the season 9 series finale is one of the most memorable moments in The Office. From Jim's "Guten Pranken" to Michael's photos of his kids and Holly, the episode is an undeniable fan favorite.
In one of the deleted scenes, audiences are treated to a slightly inebriated Phyllis, delivering an awkwardly hilarious wedding toast. She recounts how she was the first employee to discover Dwight and Angela's secret relationship and how catching them in the act was something she might have actually enjoyed.
7 Michael Reflects on His Trip To Jamaica
In season 3, Michael takes an all-inclusive trip to a Sandal's Resort in Jamaica, resulting in some hilarious scenes. Upon his return to Scranton, Michael wears Rastafarian beads in his hair in an attempt to capture the magic he experienced on vacation.
Michael reflects on his trip in a comical bit of dialogue in a deleted scene. The scene begins with his botched rendition of "Day-O" and culminates with Michael telling of a "chill pill" he took in Jamaica. The pill caused him to vomit at first but ultimately made him the most relaxed he's ever been.
6 Angela Makes a New Friend
Angela's rigid propriety in the workplace almost borders on implausible at times. With that in mind, seeing her in social settings outside of the office is a recipe for entertainment.
During a deleted scene from Phyllis' wedding to Bob Vance (of Vance Refrigeration), Angela dines next to another guest, who shares many beliefs with Angela. Audiences learn that "Dennis," Angela's new friend, is a veterinarian who recently treated a cat for leukemia. He proceeds to tell the already impressed Angela that he can sleep well at night because of his devotion to Jesus.
5 Pam Sneaks a Granola Bar
The "Dinner Party" episode is considered one of the most awkward yet entertaining episodes fans still discuss. During the episode, a recurring joke is that the guests, especially Pam, are starving and willing to do whatever it takes to eat something and end the social nightmare.
Pam and Jim sneak off upstairs in a deleted scene, so Pam can enjoy a granola bar she managed to smuggle in. The pair are trying to be as secretive as possible when Jan suddenly appears behind them out of nowhere and proceeds to scold Pam.
4 Pam Tells Dwight About Her Pimp
Another fan favorite, the "Drug Testing" episode, features Dwight as an overzealous volunteer sheriff, determined to uncover the owner of some drugs found in the office parking lot. Unfortunately, Pam's especially humorous interrogation scene was cut from the final episode.
Tired of being relentlessly questioned by Dwight in the scene, Pam begins to fabricate a sarcastic story of her and her pimp. True to his character, Dwight cannot tell if Pam is lying or not, making the scene even more hilarious.
3 Darryl Tells Michael about Gnomes in the Walls
Darryl has had his fair share of comical interactions with the obvious Michael. In the episode "The Meeting," Jim is promoted to regional "co-manager" alongside Michael in Corporate's attempt to balance their responsibilities.
Unsurprisingly, Michael can't handle the increased accountabilities, making it increasingly difficult for him to process information. Realizing this, Darryl decides to test Michael and see if he's listening to his conversation. He asks Michael if he's ok with all the gnomes living in the walls and drinking their soda, to which Michael absent-mindedly replies, "it's not a problem."
2 Toby is Sued for Plagiarism
Toby's mere existence is a constant source of frustration for Michael throughout the series, often resulting in entertaining exchanges. Throughout his time in The Office, Toby mentions his love for mysteries and his desire to write a novel.
In a deleted scene, Toby reveals that he was finally able to complete his novel during the previous summer and even successfully published it. As it turns out, his book Event at Mystery Cove sold four copies, although Toby defeatedly admits he's also being sued for plagiarism.
1 Jim in His Underwear
A deleted scene from Pam and Jim's historic Niagra Falls wedding is as hilarious as it is relevant. In the scene, Pam is documenting her wedding day with a video message, which undoubtedly parallels society's current trend towards video communication and social distancing.
Pam tells the viewers that she saved money on her wedding by making paper flowers from irregular cardstock she found at the office warehouse. Jim, unaware that she is recording, comes out of the hotel bathroom in his underwear while brushing his teeth, every remote employee's worst nightmare.
