The Office is most people's go-to mockumentary-style comedy series, and is one of the best comfort shows. The office workers at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, PA have unique personalities that often clash or complement each other.

The contrasting character traits of the employees at Dunder Mifflin help deliver countless instances of hilarity. One constant throughout The Office is the pranks between Jim Halpert and Dwight Schrute. Jim loves to pester Dwight, and some of his pranks are downright genius.

9 When Steve Pretends To Be Jim

Steve - The Office

The Office has another case of identity theft when Jim and Pam employ their actor friend, Steve, to impersonate Jim. Jim has to miss work for a dentist appointment, and Steve confuses Dwight into thinking he's Jim. They manage to pull it off by Steve knowing Jim's voicemail password and replacing Jim in the family photos. To drive Dwight wilder, Steve applauds Dwight for never noticing that Jim is Asian and even kisses Pam. This causes Dwight to have an existential crisis and question everything. What a confusing day for him.

In addition to that case of bad news, Jim sends a fax to inform Dwight that coffee will be poisoned at 8 a.m. today. This sends Dwight into a panic and saves Stanley from his "poisoned" coffee.

7 When Jim Convinces Dwight That He's Turning Into A Vampire

Let's face it, Dwight is naïve and gullible. So, Jim convinces him that he's turning into a vampire. Dwight discovers a bat in the ceiling and it flies amok throughout the office, sending the employees into a frenzy. Jim takes this opportunity to pretend like he's been bitten and is turning into a vampire.

Jim pulls this off by acting like his neck hurts, pretending to have a bad reaction to garlic, and complains the office is too bright. Coincidentally, Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, directs Business School in season three of The Office.

6 When Jim Puts Dwight's Things In A Vending Machine

Jim also moves Dwight's desk an inch closer to the copier every time he goes to the bathroom. Dwight is furious and discovers Toby has done nothing about the numerous complaints Dwight has filed against Jim.

4 When Jim Puts Dwight's Stapler In Jell-O

This is the first of many brilliant pranks Jim pulls on Dwight during the pilot episode of The Office. Jim decides to encase Dwight's stapler in a Jell-O mold, and it's reportedly the third time he does this. As Michael introduces Ryan, the new guy, Dwight discovers the stapler and tells Michael to punish Jim.

Jim, while eating a cup of Jell-O, asks how Dwight knows it was him. Michael doesn't take the joke seriously, as he makes gelatin puns and tells Dwight he has to eat the stapler out of the mold instead of taking it out. Overall, this is a staple prank of The Office.

In A Benihana Christmas, Pam hands over the reins to Jim after she has been sending secret CIA letters to Dwight in folders labeled "Classified." Pam does this as a Christmas present to Jim, and he must figure out what Dwight's secret mission will be. Jim, after much thought, disregards his promotion, and continues to antagonize Dwight.

Jim tells Dwight a helicopter will pick him up for an ice cream social at Langley Headquarters, and Dwight waits patiently on the roof. But when Dwight receives a message that he's been compromised and must destroy his phone, he throws his phone off the building.

Jim tells Dwight the prank only took him five minutes to complete since he has a "black belt in gift-wrapping." Dwight replies the deconstruction will only take five minutes. To Dwight's surprise, the chair he just sat in was made out of cardboard, like everything else near him, and he falls to the ground.
