At long last, the second trailer for 20th Century Fox’s The New Mutants has arrived.

Over two years after the first trailer was released in October of 2017, we finally have our latest look at director Josh Boone’s horror-centric X-Men spinoff film. While some of the new trailer features footage we've seen before, much of it is dedicated to introducing the teenage mutants, as Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot and Magik give Cliff Notes versions of their origin stories during a group therapy session.

The New Mutants follows a group of five young mutants, who are held in a secret facility against their will as their unique abilities begin to manifest. They must contend with the pain and mistakes of their respective pasts, as well as fight to survive the house of horrors they have found themselves in.

Originally scheduled for release on April 13, 2018, The New Mutants has been hit with several delays -- largely attributed to Disney’s recent acquisition of Fox and Marvel Studios preparing to take over the X-Men film series. The version of The New Mutants that will see the light of day this April reportedly distances itself from Fox’s other entries in the franchise, as well as remains closer to Boone’s original horror-fueled vision. The film is largely expected to take its cues from Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz’s "Demon Bear Saga," often considered to be the definitive tale from Marvel’s original New Mutants comic book series.
