The Marvel Cinematic Universe dropped the first trailer for its highly-anticipated team-up of Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan in The Marvels.

The first trailer comes months after fans berated Marvel for not airing it during the 2023 Superbowl. The trailer came after a brief teaser from Marvel Studios yesterday with a bit of mysterious audio, including Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury asking, "Where's Captain Rambeau?"

Who's in The Marvels?

Marvel Studio's official synopsis for the film teases that Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, finds "her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel and Carol's estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as 'The Marvels.'" Brie Larson, who plays Carol, appeared briefly at the end of Ms. Marvel after she and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) seemingly switch bodies. Meanwhile, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) hasn't been seen since WandaVision.

Beyond the synopsis and an epic poster confirming Monica Rambeau's status as Photon, Marvel has remained tight-lipped about the film. Other cast members include Saagar Shaikh as Aamir Khan, Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan and Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan. Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon will also appear. Previously, Ashton has been rumored to be a villain, while Seo-joon was reported as playing Carol's husband, Prince Yan.

Kamala Khan Keeps the Trio Together

Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently described Kamala as taking on Peter Parker's mantle in that she plays the exuberant and enthusiastic new team member. Additionally, Feige called her the film's scene stealer while expressing enthusiasm for what Marvel Studios did with her solo series. "I'm very proud of the Ms. Marvel show. I also know — and this is a spoiler — she essentially steals The Marvels, which is coming out [July 28]. It makes me excited that people will, I hope, see that movie and then go back and revisit those shows on Disney+."

The Marvels saw its release date pushed back four times and recently revealed its fifth launch date. Although initially planned to release in July 2022, The Marvels now hits theaters on Nov. 10.
