Epic Games and Marvel announced a collaborative project for Fortnite in recent weeks, featuring the likes of Storm and Galactus. A trailer for Chapter 2: Season 4 has been released, showcasing the scale of the upcoming event: Nexus War.
The trailer showcases the Bifrost bridge snatching some of Earth's mightiest heroes away from their battles on Earth. These heroes include Iron Man, She-Hulk, Wolverine and many more, all brought to the battle royale island, where they are met by a world-ending threat.
The event was teased with a tie-in comic book made available in Fortnite, which revealed that the immense power from the battle royale island drew the attention of both Thor and Galactus. Knowing that he could not hope to face the devourer of worlds alone, Thor summoned his friends and allies.
Nexus War is not the first time Marvel superheroes have been seen in the game. Fortnite has featured a number of skins based on superheroes such as Deadpool, Hulk and other members of the Avengers, often to coincide with major announcements or releases such as the upcoming Marvel's Avengers video game.
Developed by Epic Games, Fortnite is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows. The Chapter 2, Season 4 update launches Aug. 27.
