WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the South Park Season 23 episode, "Basic Cable."

Premiering last month, The Mandalorian has been a hit for the Disney+ streaming service, somehow uniting (well, mostly) a fandom divided by Star Wars: The Last Jedi behind a mysterious bounty hunter and his adorable asset, "Baby Yoda." However, the series has served an even higher purpose on South Park, helping frequently ridiculed diabetes patient Scott Malkinson to find true love, in a way.

Scott has been a breakout character over the past couple of seasons, even though he's been on the series since 2004. He's become more prominent with Cartman often making him the butt of the jokes for being uncool and ... diabetic. The other boys don't partake in the bullying, but they agree that Scott is kind of annoying. That has led to Scott trying way too hard to be accepted. However, when Sophie arrives at South Park Elementary, he sheds all those insecurities and falls in love immediately.

When she introduces herself in front of the class, Scott is smitten, in part because the new girl has diabetes too. But the icing on the cake comes when she reveals she loves The Mandalorian, which is something Scott has been trying to get into for some time. However, he's been unable to watch the series, because his father, Clark, is one of the town's cable guys and refuses to make the switch to streaming, which leaves Scott begging to get Disney+. He's a huge Star Wars fan, and hearing Sophie loving this series means Scott must do whatever it takes to get access to the series.

That results in Scott sabotaging the boys' attempts to woo her, and trying to get Disney+ for himself illegally. He's actually digs a hole for himself, because he lied, claiming he has the streaming service and watches for the show every week. Sophie is adamant she has to watch The Mandalorian as soon as a new episode releases to avoid spoilers, so the two kids set up their first date to watch. However, it's at Scott's house, which leaves him with a predicament. While his mother is glad Scott finally has a date, Clark has no intention of switching from basic cable, which, in his eyes, is the enemy.

Scott jumps through hoops to get the service, picturing himself as the cosmic gunslinger trying to snatch a prize. Disney+ is his bounty, and so, Scott seeks out classmate Nathan, a drug dealer and criminal mastermind, who sells logins for Netflix, Hulu and other streaming services. Of course, Scott is destined for failure even after he gets the Disney+ login, or as Nathan calls it, "the good stuff." And make no mistake, Scott's risking life and limb as he trades Nathan his insulin so the latter can shoot up and get high.

Unfortunately, as soon as Sophie settles down with snacks and juices, the date goes to hell once the stream stalls. It's all because of Clark, who took down the town's infrastructure so there is no internet; he wants cable to reign supreme. It's Scott's worst nightmare. When Sophie rushes over to Jimmy's home to watch, the boys there try to hit on her once the stream goes down there too.

After a freakout in which Scott rocks his syringes like the claws of an angry Wolverine, Sophie meets him on the playground after realizing what they have in common -- diabetes and a shared love for The Mandalorian -- forges a connection that she can't have with the other boys. She tells him even though she missed the latest episode of the series, she somewhat likes The Scott Malkinson Show, which gives him new hope.

Starring Trey Parker and Matt Stone, South Park Season 23 airs Wednesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on Comedy Central.
