A new rumor suggests that fan-favorite Star Wars Rebels character Sabine Wren could make her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 3.

According to industry insider and Editor-in-Chief at Cinelinx Jordan Maison, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who has been cast as the live-action version of Sabine Wren, may participate in Din Djarin's upcoming adventures. Responding to a post speculating that the two Mandalorians may meet in the third season, Maison simply responded with a "Yeah." Details on how Sabine Wren will fit into the plot of The Mandalorian Season 3 were not specified. It's worth noting that Disney and Lucasfilm have only confirmed Bordizzo's presence in the upcoming Ahsoka series, so a grain of salt is recommended.

Details on Sabine Wren's future Star Wars adventures remain scarce but Liu has addressed her feelings on stepping into the colorful Beskar armor. "Sabine is so fearless and brave, with so much grace, but she still has flaws," Bordizzo said. "She's not perfect, she's on her journey, she's making mistakes. And it's very high stakes in this galactic war, to make mistakes."

Sabine Wren and Din Djarin?

Despite being a relatively recent addition to Star Wars' sprawling canon, Sabine has become a beloved character in the fandom. Having served as a dedicated member of the Rebel Alliance, completing several major missions during her time on The Ghost, Sabine eventually ended up wielding the Darksaber, which made its first live-action appearance in The Mandalorian Season 1. She eventually gave up the legendary weapon, passing it on to Bo-Katan Kryze who was played by Katee Sackhoff in The Mandalorian Season 2.

Speaking about how she landed the role of Sabine Wren, Bordizzo noted that her audition for the part saw her reading from an unlikely yet surprisingly fitting film. "I had a scene from Top Gun to audition with, and I played this male pilot," Bordizzo said. After that first meeting, the actor was immediately given the role without any kind of follow-up. "I was suspicious! I was like, 'Wait, I have the offer for this?'" Bordizzo explained. "I met Jon Favreau later, and he was basically like, 'I get it. I'm an actor. I don't want to put you through the wringer, and I don't want to make you do a million takes and auditions and tests. We know we want you, and that's it.' I really appreciated that."

The Mandalorian Season 3 arrives on Disney+ on February 2023. The first two seasons are now streaming.
