Star Wars are already beginning to speculate that The Mandalorian Season 3 will include some cameos from the beloved Rebels animated series.

Per the official Writers Guild of America West, The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau writes on every episode of Season 3, with Noah Kloor contributing to Episode 3 and Dave Filoni co-writing Episodes 4 and 7. Many fans have taken Filoni's participation in penning just two scripts to mean that some of his animated creations, specifically Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Ahsoka and Rebels' Sabine Wren, will cameo in those chapters. At the time of writing, this remains pure speculation and neither Lucasfilm nor Disney have confirmed either character's inclusion in the live-action Disney+ series.

While Ahsoka has already appeared in The Mandalorian, having been a key plot point in Season 2, Sabine has yet to make a jump into the realm of live-action Star Wars. Lucasfilm has confirmed that the colorful Mandalorian will appear in the Ahsoka series as portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo. The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal has noted that Season 3 of the hit show will include plenty of surprises that the creative team has managed to keep quiet. "There's so much that you're going to see," Pascal teased. "There are more secrets to keep."

The Mandalorian's Epic Quest in Season 3

Details on The Mandalorian Season 3's plot remain largely unknown but the trailers indicate that protagonist Din Djarin will be embarking on a quest for redemption and forgiveness, having previously broken his oath to never reveal his face to another. This will see the daring bounty hunter and his ward Grogu embarking on a quest to Mandalore and going up against others of his creed that wish to see him fail.

"I mean it's epic, it's definitely epic," Pascal said when asked about Season 3's scale. "And we're going to get a lot of things that were introduced into the storytelling early in Season 1, themes and ideas that you'll remember once we get into [the] full fruition of Season 3, and it's epic, epic... but I'm not lying, it is epic... the amount of times I say 'epic' gives everything away, okay?"

The Mandalorian Season 3 debuts on Disney+ on March 1, 2023.
