The Mandalorian Season 3 doesn't have a specific premiere date, despite recent reports to the contrary.

Disney+ representatives denied claims that the Star Wars series' third season is locked in for a Feb. 22, 2023 debut after being approached for comment by Screen Rant. These claims were made by several unnamed sources close to the production, who all insisted that the Feb. 22 premiere date was now set in stone. The official stance on The Mandalorian Season 3 taken by both Disney+ and Lucasfilm is that the show will return in February 2023 as previously announced, but that the exact date is still being decided.

The first trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 arrived in September 2022 as part of the D23 Expo 2022 fan event. It focuses on protagonist Din Djarin's (Pedro Pascal) mission to redeem himself after breaking the rules of his clan by removing his helmet in Season 2. Djarin's surrogate son Grogu features prominently in the trailer as well, as do his allies Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff). The trailer also includes at least one nod to the continuity of spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett, as Djarin is seen piloting the same heavily modified N-1 starfighter he acquired in that show.

The Mandalorian Stars Tease Season 3 and Beyond

Pascal teased the scope of The Mandalorian Season 3 shortly before the D23 trailer premiered. He also promised fans that the next batch of episodes will pay off plot points introduced in earlier seasons. "I mean it's epic, it's definitely epic," Pascal said. "And we're going to get a lot of things that were introduced into the storytelling early in Season 1, themes and ideas that you'll remember once we get into [the] full fruition of Season 3, and it's epic, epic... but I'm not lying, it is epic... the amount of times I say 'epic' gives everything away, okay?"

Around the same time, Sackhoff confirmed that showrunner Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni already know when The Mandalorian will end. "Yes [nods head comically and laughs], yes," she replied when asked if the total number of planned seasons matched her own expectations. "The good thing with Dave and Jon is that they're constantly expanding this world and I don't think that Star Wars fans will be lacking for content any time soon."

The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Disney+. Season 3 does not yet have an official release date.
