A new still for The Mandalorian Season 3 reunites Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Grogu and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff).

Released by Empire Magazine, the image shows the two Mandalorians and Force-sensitive foundling together on a desert planet, which may be Mandalore. The Mandalorian homeworld has a desert landscape and is set to be a main locale for the Star Wars series' third season on Disney+. In the upcoming season, Din Djarin or "Mando" will travel to Mandalore to restore his honor after going against the creed of his people, the Children of the Watch.

The Mandalorian's Quest for Redemption in Season 3

Although it is not followed by all Mandalorians, one of the rules of the Children of the Watch is that a member must never be seen by others without their helmet on. Djarin broke this mandate more than once in The Mandalorian Season 2, revealing his face in an Imperial mining facility on Morak, and later to Grogu and others once they rescue the child from Imperial leader Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). While appearing in the spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett, Djarin learned from the Armorer (Emily Swallow) that he "may only be redeemed in the living waters beneath the mines of Mandalore."

In the official trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3, Djarin makes the decision to travel to Mandalore to atone for going against his creed. The upcoming season will also feature Bo-Katan, a Mandalorian introduced by the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series that assists with saving Grogu in The Mandalorian Season 2. Bo-Katan was formerly the rightful ruler of Mandalore until she lost the Dark Saber to Moff Gideon, a weapon that Djarin took from Gideon after defeating the villain in single combat, making him the next rightful ruler.

How The Book of Boba Fett Bridges The Mandalorian Seasons 2 and 3

The Mandalorian Season 3 takes place following The Book of Boba Fett Season 1, in which Djarin appears between Episode 5 and 7. These episodes gave Djarin a replacement ship for his Razor Crest destroyed in The Mandalorian Season 2, but also brought Mando and Grogu back together despite the two parting ways in the Season 2 finale. Other Star Wars characters will be returning in Season 3 as well, such as Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), New Republic Captain Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and Doctor Pershing (Omid Abtahi).

Additionally, the trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 teases a dark threat growing on the horizon, multiple Mandalorians, flashbacks to the Siege of the Jedi Temple and more. The new season premieres March 1 on Disney+.
