Star Wars: The Mandalorian has brought back many fan-favorite Stormtroopers to live-action. In its first season, the series brought back Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's Death Troopers as well as Return of the Jedi's Scout Troopers. And this is without mentioning the series' new additions to the Empire's ranks, such as the Incinerator and Remnant Stormtroopers. On top of that, The Mandalorian has also brought elements from the animated realm into live-action, including The Clone Wars' Death Watch Mandalorians.

So, with the upcoming Season 2 set to feature even more animated characters with the likes of Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan joining the fray, the series should also introduce a squadron of troopers that would make for a formidable opponent for the titular bounty hunter: the Imperial Supercommandos.

The Imperial Supercommandos were introduced in Season 3 of the animated series Star Wars: Rebels. Led by Gar Saxon, this squadron was a troop of Mandalorians who chose to side with the Empire. As a result, they had new costumes that mixed both the aesthetics of Stormtroopers and Mandalorians together. They had the iconic helmets and flying jetpacks, but their visors were slimmer, and the color of their armors was the obligatory white. Because Saxon was the leader of his troopers, his armor was also highlighted with red. This distinct look instantly made the Supercommandos and their leader stand apart. What's more, since they were fearsome Mandalorians now turned enforcers of the Empire, they were much more lethal and dangerous than your average Stormtrooper. Their appearance on Rebels was brief, but the Supercommandos still made for a striking new addition to the Empire's ranks.

Since there are already plenty of characters jumping from Star Wars' animated realm to live-action, these elite troopers would be right at home on The Mandalorian. After all, the Disney+ series is dealing heavily with the lore of the planet Mandalore, and the warrior culture of the people who call it home. The series may take place after the events of Return of the Jedi, but Season 1 has shown that the Empire still has a remnant presence in the galaxy. Since Moff Gideon and plenty of troopers are still around, it's possible that a few Supercommandos are still out there.

These evil Mandalorians would also make formidable opponents for Mando. Fans have seen Din Djarin take care of multiple enemy troopers at once, but there were few who ultimately posed a real challenge. After his defeat in Season 1, Gideon could seek these troopers out as his latest recruits, using them as his personal muscle.

The Supercommandos could make for recurring villains on the hunt for Din Djarin, and they would likely prove difficult to put down. After all, in Season 1, fans saw how efficient and deadly a crew of Mandalorians truly were -- and they were on Din's side. Just imagine how dangerous evil Mandalorians could be, and the type of threat they could pose.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito. Season 1 is available now on Disney+, with Season 2 premiering in October.
