Several months after it was revealed that fan-favorite Jedi Ahsoka Tano would appear in The Mandalorian on Disney+, the character made her live-action debut, played by actor Rosario Dawson.To celebrate the premiere of the latest episode, "The Jedi," Dawson commented on a trailer for the episode in true Star Wars fashion, writing, "May The Force Be With You."RELATED: The Mandalorian Has Digitally Erased Jeans Guy From Existence

Dawson was first reported to be attached to the role in March. However, this followed several years of demand from fans, who had expressed a shared desire to see the actor take on the lightsabers of Tano. As far back as 2017, there were online campaigns to ensure Dawson would be cast in any live-action adaptation of the character.

It was previously reported that Dawson's contract with Lucasfilm extends beyond The Mandalorian, suggesting that she may continue to play Ahsoka Tano in other live-action projects.

Ahsoka Tano was created by George Lucas as Anakin Skywalker's padawan. She appeared in the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars 2008 and went on to play a prominent role in the series that spawned from it, as well as Star Wars: Rebels, initially set 14 years after its predecessor.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, with guest stars Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Horatio Sanz and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the second season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez.
