The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal -- who plays lead protagonist Din Djarin -- has put the kibosh on rumors that he no longer wants to wear his Star Wars character's iconic beskar helmet.

Over the past few months, various rumors have swirled online that the Narcos alum disliked wearing Din's Mandalorian helmet and wanted to take it off on camera more, with some reports even claiming that Pascal wanted to leave the series over the supposed conflict. However, during a recent appearance on BBC's The One Show alongside Wonder Woman 1984 co-star Gal Gadot, Pascal himself put these rumors to bed.

During the interview, Pascal responded to a fan question asking if it was true that he no longer wanted to wear his helmet in future episodes of The Mandalorian. "That is not true, actually," the actor said. "It's a really wonderful way of telling the story. It's always been a very clear creed for the character, and the collaborative process of the whole thing has been, we've all been on the same page with this, I think. So I, you know, what I want is for them to make the best show possible, however they get that done."

In The Mandalorian, Pascal's Din Djarin is a Mandalorian bounty hunter that abides by the Way of the Mandalore -- a belief system that dictates that Mandalorians never show their faces to another living being, always wearing their helmets in the presence of others. A foundling, Din was raised by the Children of the Watch, which -- as he learns in the show's second season -- is actually a group of religious zealots that turned its back on mainstream Mandalorian society. Pascal has shown his face on the show, mind you, with the first instance coming in last year's Season 1 finale, "Chapter 8: Redemption."

The Mandalorian's Season 2 finale, "Chapter 16," is slated to drop on Disney+ Dec. 18, with Season 3 currently in the works. It was also announced at Disney Investor Day 2020 that two spinoffs are in development: Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic. The three shows' respective stories will interconnect, culminating in a "climactic story event."

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. New episodes arrive Fridays on Disney+.
