WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 5, "Chapter 13: The Jedi," streaming now on Disney+.

The latest episode of The Mandalorian, "The Jedi," revealed several key facts about The Child -- also known as Grogu -- when he and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) encountered former Jedi Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) on the planet Corvus. Although they shared a connection through the Force, Ahsoka refused to the train Grogu, stating that his attachment to the Mandalorian leaves him vulnerable to his fears. She then instead instructed Din to take Grogu to the ruins of an ancient Jedi temple on the planet Tython, where Grogu can reach out through the Force to another potential Jedi teacher.

Ahsoka's refusal opens the door for a number of Jedi candidates -- both from Disney canon and Legends -- to become Grogu's master in the future. Here are seven such Jedi who could take Grogu as an apprentice.

Jedi: Fallen Order's Cal Kestis

Cal Kestis's journey in Jedi Fallen Order

The main character of 2019's Jedi: Fallen Order video game, Cal Kestis survived Order 66 and attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order after obtaining a Holocron containing information on Force-sensitive children throughout the galaxy, potentially making Grogu among the first in his new Jedi Order. Over the course of his journey, Cal makes a number of tough calls that see him grow as a Jedi. He's also survived tremendous hardship and loss to become steadfast and compassionate. Trained to resist the temptation of the Dark Side, Cal could be an effective mentor and help Grogu overcome his demons.

Star Wars: Rebels' Ezra Bridger

Trained as a Jedi under Kanan Jarrus, Ezra debuted on the Rebels animated series and last appeared in that show's series finale, where he was sucked into hyperspace along with Thrawn and his Star Destroyer, the Chimera. In "The Jedi," Ahsoka is looking for information on Thrawn, so it's entirely possible Ezra is also out there somewhere. Ezra may be reckless and impulsive at times, but he's dedicated to the ways of the Jedi, and he's made great strides in mastering the Force. Ezra's live-action debut in The Mandalorian could continue his growth as a Jedi while he mentors Grogu. Plus, fans are definitely eager to see Ezra appear in live-action.

The Legendary Luke Skywalker

Although the outcome might prove tragic -- given the fate of most of his students -- Luke Skywalker, one of the most famous and strongest Jedi in Star Wars history, could pass his wisdom and mastery of the Force down to Grogu. Before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke is training a new generation of Jedi and rebuilding the Order. Himself mentored by the wise Yoda, Luke has many valuable lessons to impart to his students, and he could personally train Grogu, as The Child serves as a reminder of one of his greatest teachers.

The Unconventional Quinlan Vos

An unconventional Jedi, Master Quinlan Vos, who cameoed in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, gained a reputation for bending the rules. Still, his willingness to break with tradition helped him survive Order 66 and the Jedi Purge. During his many undercover missions, Quinlan mastered blending in with native populations and is able to perceive other people's memories when touching an object. He is a perfect candidate to help shape Grogu's unconventional approach to the Force. From his own experience with the Dark Side, Quinlan understands better than most the trials and violence Grogu has endured.

Heir to the Empire's Mara Jade

Introduced alongside Thrawn in Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire, Mara Jade was formerly the Emperor's Hand, but she eventually became a renowned Jedi and joined Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order. While their relationship got off on the wrong foot, Mara and Luke eventually got married and had a child named Ben. She went on to train Leia's daughter, Jaina, and repeatedly proved herself a skilled warrior and spy. Although she's part of the non-canon Legends continuity, mentoring Grogu is the perfect way to introduce Jade into both Disney's Star Wars and live-action.

Star Wars: Jedi Knight's Kyle Katarn

Star Wars Kyle Katarn

Also a Legends character, Kyle Katarn first appeared in 1996's Star Wars: Dark Forces video game and remained a major character for quite some time thereafter. Initially introduced as a Stormtrooper, Katarn defected to the Rebellion and later became a Jedi, working alongside Luke Skywalker following the fall of the Empire. Along the way, Katarn did have a number of difficulties, and he temporarily turned to the Dark Side.

The Mandalorian has already made Dark Troopers, which debuted in Dark Forces, canon, meaning Katarn could follow suit, and he's a potentially great mentor for Grogu. While unconventional, Katarn overcame his self-doubt to become a leader, and his experience with the Dark Side. As Grogu is struggling with many of the same issues, Katarn might just end up being the best choice for the young alien's mentor.

The Wisest Jedi: Oppo Rancisis

Appearing in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and episodes of The Clone Wars, Oppo Rancisis is an underrated survivor of Order 66 and a former member of the Jedi Council. Serving during the Naboo crisis and the Clone Wars, Rancisis trained under Jedi Master Yaddle -- another of Yoda and Grogu's species -- and adheres strictly to the ways of the Order, even turning down his royal heritage to walk the path of a Jedi. He is one of the wisest Jedi in the Order and prefers using the Force to a lightsaber. Rancisis' patience and dedication to the Light Side could prove instrumental to Grogu's growth as a Jedi and Force-user.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, with guest stars Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Horatio Sanz and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the second season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
