Industrial Light + Magic (ILM) Animation Director Hal Hickel shared a behind-the-scenes photo from The Mandalorian, proving that even banthas need a teeth cleaning every now and then.Hickel posted a photo from the set of the Disney+ series on Twitter, which shows the mouth of one of the Tusken Raiders' trusty steeds in all its glory. "Bantha tooth hygiene is very important," Hickel wrote.

The Season 2 premiere of the live-action Star Wars series featured a shot of a Tusken Raider brushing the teeth of a bantha using a gaffi stick, the traditional weapon of the indigenous Tatooineites. Lucasfilm Creative Art Manager Phil Szostak elaborated on the quick scene, saying that it was not planed in the script.

"That gag wasn't in the script. So I'm guessing that it's something that Jon came up with on set, probably because gaffi sticks resemble giant gum stimulators," he wrote on Twitter.

The Tuskens and their banthas played a pivotal role in the premiere episode, helping Mando (Pedro Pascal) take down a krayt dragon. The banthas were used to transport goods between the mining town of Mos Pelgo and the dragon's lair, while one unfortunate creature served as a makeshift bomb that finally killed the beast.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian picks up with Mando searching for Baby Yoda's home planet and protecting it from forces who would do the Child harm, including Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito). The new season has already featured the live-action TV debuts of several beloved Star Wars characters, including Temuera Morrison's Boba Fett and Timothy Olyphant's Cobb Vanth. Other familiar faces that are expected to appear include Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano and Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan Kryze.
