Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian has been going on deep dives into the process behind the first live-action Star Wars series, resulting in a number of early designs for the Child being released for audiences everywhere to see.

The artwork for the popular character range from cute and cuddly to borderline creepy. The series of illustrations reveal the process of creating Baby Yoda, as the designs seem to begin with a creature more akin to Yoda and slowly evolve into the infantile wonder that ultimately captivated fans worldwide.

The Mandalorian was the first live-action Star Wars show, released in 2019 on Disney+ to enormous success. Helmed by Jon Favreau with help from Clone Wars creator Dave Filoni, the series was praised by fans and critics alike for its style and classic western-inspired story.

Baby Yoda quickly became an internet phenomenon shortly after the first episode aired, plastered all over social media. The character's baby-like demeanor and mysterious existence was likely a huge draw for people. In fact, it has been suggested that the Child is responsible for the immense popularity of the Disney+ series.
