When it comes to action flicks, award-winning pedigree isn't always super important. A great action star or popular director is usually enough to bring in viewers, but The Man with the Iron Fists has plenty of film geek cred going for it. In addition to boasting an all star cast that includes Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung and Pam Grier, the flick also marks the debut of RZA as a director. The Wu-Tang Clan member, solo artist and film score maestro also stars in the film and co-wrote it along with Hostel helmer Eli Roth. Oh, and the whole thing is presented by Quentin Tarantino, who began his association with the musician when he hired RZA to score the Kill Bill flicks. The movie's poster unveiling got internet tongues wagging, and now, The Hollywood Reporter shares a look at the first red band trailer released for the actioner.

While the trailer doesn't reveal much about the film itself, it appears as though seven clans of warriors have decided to face off against one another in a village for reasons as yet unknown. Considering the talent involved in crafting the film, it would stand to reason that the story services the violence as much as the other way around. And, if not, lots of face kicking can wipe away the need for a pesky plot.
