Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid is apparently eyeing Krypton star Cameron Cuffe for the role of Prince Eric.

According to Deadline, both Cuffe and Jonah Hauer-King tested for the role on Monday at Pinewood Studios, though Disney didn't comment when probed by the outlet.

In July, it was reported that musician-turned-actor Harry Styles was in talks to play Prince Eric. However, his name has since been detached from the project.

At this time, Bailey is one of the only confirmed cast members for The Little Mermaid. Reports have hinted at several other big names being eyed for key roles, though, including Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Javier Bardem as King Triton.

Directed by Rob Marshall and starring Halle Bailey, The Little Mermaid does not yet have a release date.

The recently canceled Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange, Georgina Campbell as Lyta-Zod, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ann Ogbomo as Jayna-Zod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex, Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em, Ian McElhinney as Val-El and Blake Ritson as Brainiac.
