HBO has released the first full-length trailer for the second season of "The Leftovers," which sets up the new premise-shaking -- and supporting cast-jettisoning -- status quo: The Garvey family, and at least some of their friends, leave Mapleton, New York, for Jarden, Texas, a town that lost no residents during the Rapture-like Sudden Departure.

Jarden may have been renamed as Miracle, but at the Garveys' new neighbor says in the trailer, "There are no miracles in Miracle." However, there appears to be plenty of drama and mystery, with the Murphy family seemingly hiding an agenda. Plus, it appears that Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) may be haunted by Patti, aka the Guilty Remnant (the wonderful Ann Dowd).

Theroux is joined by returning cast members Amy Brenneman, Margaret Qualley, Chris Zylka, Carrie Coon, Liv Tyler and Christopher Eccleston, plus newcomers Kevin Carroll (“Law & Order: SVU”), Regina King (“The Strain”), Jovan Adepo (“Blood Relatives”) and Darius McCrary ("Family Matters")>

"The Leftovers" returns Oct. 4 on HBO.
