Usually a 10-year gap between starring roles is a bad sign for an actor, but that’s not necessarily the case when it comes to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Although the 1980s action-movie icon hasn’t headlined a project since 2003’s Terminator: Rise of the Machines, we can probably excuse him for being a little preoccupied as the two-term governor of California.
After smaller roles in the two Expendables films, Schwarzenegger makes his return to center stage Jan. 18 with The Last Stand from Korean director Jee-woon Kim (A Tale of Two Sisters, The Saw the Devil). The one-time Terminator plays a small-town sheriff whose town happens to be on the delivery route of a high-tech drug dealer.
Johnny Knoxville, Luis Guzman and Jaimie Alexander team up with Arnold against the likes of Rodrigo Santoro and Peter Stormare. Give the following red-band trailer a look to see how bloody things will get:
