WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 3 of The Last Kids on Earth, now streaming on Netflix.

Netflix's The Last Kids on Earth finds Jack Sullivan digging deep to save the human-monster alliance at Wakefield as Rezzoch possesses the giant red dragon to become the King Wretch. It's been attacking the coalition, all while trying to use Jack as a host to lay waste to Earth in person.

To complicate matters more, Jack, June and Co. are trying to make a 10 pm deadline where there will be a one-way radio broadcast with other survivors. But, as the dragon assaults their crew at the top of a rollercoaster in Fun Land, Season 3's finale is thrown into utter chaos.

Jack Doesn't Submit to Rezzoch

The team's struggling to reach the top of the rollercoaster as the dragon keeps swooping in, but Jack distracts it long enough so they can get a signal. Unfortunately, the radio falls and Jack's kidnapped and taken to a comic store where he and Bardle enter a dreamscape with Rezzoch as the Nightmare King from Max Brallier's Book 3.

Rezzoch tells Jack it wants him to be its host because he's all alone while the other kids are seeking out their family. However, the crew arrives, enters the dreamscape and rescues Jack, showing that they chose him over the radio. This inspires Jack and reminds him even if they find other humans, he'll always have his friends.

The Wretch Finally Falls

With Jack's hope restored, Rezzoch decides to go after them one last time. They tie the beast up, though, and with Rover (Jack's pet monster) dragging it, they toss the monster into the junkyard where the giant Scrapken rises up to engage in battle. It's a war similar to Godzilla movies as the dragon absorbs other smaller ones, turning into a three-headed beast similar to King Ghidorah.

However, the Scrapken's tentacles prove too effective and it suffocates each of the Wretched's heads. It then grapples it to the bottom of the scrap heap, disappearing and giving the impression it's going to devour Rezzoch's current form. After the brutal affair, all the other smaller dragons fly away, no longer living in fear of the fallen leader.

A Rescue Team and A New Enemy Are Coming

The kids get back to the radio and the one-way transmission reveals humans have banded together inside New York's Statue of Liberty. A young lady confirms they'll be moving from city to city on a rescue mission to gather as many people as possible and reunite families that got lost in the monster apocalypse. In the meantime, Jack's team is looking forward to their arrival, focusing on repairing the town after learning about Rezzoch through so many rote battles this season.

However, as winter comes in the final shot, a young girl appears on screen with a mask on. She mounts a giant Kaiju and indicates they have work to do, suggesting she's going to be the new villain.

The Last Kids on Earth Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix. It stars Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O’Hara, Bruce Campbell, Garland Whitt, Montse Hernandez, Charles Demers and Nick Wolfhard.
