The Batman Who Laughs #7 by Scott Snyder and Jock concluded the miniseries starring the Dark Knight from the Dark Multiverse, and featured Jim Gordon infected with an evil toxin. This turned Gordon into one of The Infected, and a member of The Batman Who Laugh's Secret Six.

Now, Gordon will star in a Year of the Villain spinoff in December titled The Infected: The Commissioner #1, by writer Paul Jenkins (Batman: The Dark Knight, Batman: Jekyll and Hyde) and artist Jack Herbert (The Silencer, Earth 2: World’s End).

The description for The Infected: The Commissioner #1 calls it a story "about a hero whose sense of duty and honor is stripped away; a man who has finally given in to his worst impulses—and he might just take the entire city into the darkness with him..."

The Infected have also been dubbed the Secret Six, with five of the heroes -- Jim Gordon, Shazam, Supergirl, Blue Beetle and Hawkman -- revealed through preview pages for Batman/Superman, covers for The Infected and the final issue of The Batman Who Laughs miniseries. That left the final member of the Secret Six a mystery, but as it turns out, DC spoiled Donna Troy's infection weeks ago in an animated video on Twitter.

Jim Gordon will join The Batman Who Laughs' twisted Justice League as they prepare to do battle with Apex Lex Luthor in a conclusion to the events of both Justice League's "Justice/Doom War" arc and Batman/Superman's "Infected" arc.
