Morten Tyldum, the Oscar-nominated director of The Imitation Game, has set his sights on a faraway galaxy for Passengers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film follows a starship that transports human cargo to a colonized planet. When the ship malfunctions, a male passenger awakens from a cryogenic slumber a century too soon and decides to thaw a female passenger out of fear of being alone.

Scripted by John Spaihts (Prometheus), Passengers has lingered in development for a while now. At one point, Brian Kirk, Keanu Reeves, Reese Witherspoon and Rachel McAdams were attached.

Neal Mortiz and Ori Marmur are on board as producers.
