The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Debuts Dramatic First Trailer

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire might not debut for another seven months, but fans still want to see something -- anything! -- from the second chapter in the four-movie Hunger Games series. Lionsgate debuted the first trailer last night during the MTV Movie Awards. As you can see above, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) is dealing with her new station in life after winning the Hunger Games, something that doesn't sit well with President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who sit around, planning on how to bring her down.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Opening Nov. 22, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire also stars Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone and a host of others.
