'The Hobbit's' Smaug Crashes 'The Colbert Report'

As The Colbert Report heads toward its final episode on Dec. 18, some big names have been stopping by to say farewell to host Stephen Colbert. However, none has been as big as last night's guest: Smaug, the covetous dragon from director Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy.

Appearing ahead of the premiere of The Battle of the Five Armies, the last great fire-drake of the Third Age not only endorsed Sen. Rand Paul for president but took swipes at the dragons of Game of Thrones and How to Train Your Dragon ("Toothless? More like ball-less."). He also defended his attempted killing of Bilbo Baggins.

"Answer me this, Stephen," Smaug snapped. "What would you do if someone broke into your house wearing a hoodie? I was standing my ground. Do you have a problem with that?"
