The Grinch is still a mean one, it turns out. The latest trailer for the The Grinch reveals that Doctor Seuss's holiday-hating green menace is still at it. The trailer shows the Grinch doing what he does best: Plotting how to best steal Christmas and then, of course, finally stealing Christmas.
Previous trailers established Illumination's adaptation of the character and his dog, Max, as well as teasing the reason why the Grinch hates Christmas so much. The latest trailer revolves around the Grinch's aptitude as an inventor (which he uses almost exclusively for nefarious acts) and the night he sets out to try and steal Christmas from the people of Whoville.
The Grinch is based on author Doctor Seuss's classic, illustrated children's tale How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Published in 1957, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! recounts the tale of a bitter, cynical creature named the Grinch who cares little for the world and people around him.
Throughout the course of the book, the Grinch steals Christmas from the people of Whoville, but his heart is eventually warmed by the book's chief protagonist, Cindy Lou Who, and the sound of the townspeople singing Christmas songs.
In theaters Nov. 9, The Grinch stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Ariel Winter, Rashida Jones, Kenan Thompson, Cameron Seely and Angela Lansbury.
