It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? The streak began on September 27, 2012. Let's see if it is still going on!

Week 225 was Lucio Parrillo's cover for "Evil Ernie: Godeart" #5, which homaged Leonardo Da Vinci's famous "Vitruvian Man" sketch.

Week 226 was Jenny Frison's cover for "Mighty Captain Marvel" #1, which homaged the cover to Kanye West's "Life of Pablo" album.

Week 227 was Scott Koblish's cover for "Deadpool" #25, which homaged the famous Grant Wood painting, "American Gothic".

Week 228 was the first week of Joe Jusko's awesome cover corner box homage covers, with "Avengers" #4, which homaged the Vision corner box on "Avengers" issues.

Week 229 was Joe Jusko's cover for "Inhumans vs. X-Men" #4, which homaged the Namor corner box on "Namor" issues.

Week 230 was Joe Jusko's cover for "Captain America: Steve Rogers" #11, which homaged the Captain America corner box on

"Captain America" issues.

Will the streak keep going? Check back next time!
