The Great Comic Book Cover Homage Streak Continues!

It occurs to me that it seems like many comic book covers are homages. Which is fine with me. I have no problem with it. It just made me think, though, how long could I go before I hit a week where NO new comic book was released that had a cover that was an homage to something? The streak began in September 2012. Let's see if it is still going on!

Week 205 was Neal Adams' cover for "Sixpack and Dogwelder: Hard Travelin' Heroz" #1, which homaged Adams' own cover for "Green Lantern" #76.

Week 206 was Cameron Stewart's cover for "All-New Wolverine Annual" #1, which homaged the movie poster for "Reservoir Dogs".

Week 207 was Michael DiPascale's cover for "Crossed Plus 100" #18, which homaged Gus Ricca's cover for "Punch Comics" #12.

Week 208 was Nick Derington's cover for "Doom Patrol" #1, which homaged the album cover of the Velvet Underground's self-titled debut.

Week 209 was Mike Norton's cover for "Agents of SHIELD" #9, which homaged Frank Miller and Klaus Janson's cover for "Daredevil" #179.

Week 210 was Marguerite Sauvage's cover for "Josie and the Pussycats" #1, which homaged the album cover for The Beatles' "Abbey Road".

Week 211 was Dan Parent's cover for "Archie Meets the Ramones", which homaged the album cover for the Ramones' debut album.

Week 212 was Marco D'Alfonso's cover for "Mosaic" #1, which homaged Earl Sweatshirt's mixtape.

Week 213 was Chris Eliopoulos' cover for "Back to the Future" #12, which homaged the movie poster for "Back to the Future".

Week 214 was David Youkovich's cover for "Evil Dead 2: Dark Ones Rising" #2, which homaged the movie poster for "King Kong".

Week 215 was Bob McLeod's cover for "Death of X" #3, which homaged Bob McLeod's own cover for "Marvel Graphic Novel" #4, the first appearance of the New Mutants!

Week 216 was Alitha Martinez' cover for "Black Panther: World of Wakanda", which homaged Dr. Dre's album cover for "Compton".

So the streak has continued for 216 weeks now! Will it go further? I'll check back in in a month or so to find out!
