Within the first day of launching, "The Goon" has successfully reached its Kickstarter goal for a tabletop role-playing game based on the comic series published by Dark Horse. According to the Kickstarter campaign, "The Goon" RPG is already written, approved and in final edits, but additional funding ensures the creation of more collectibles such as miniatures, Bennies, a game master's screen, and new adventures. The game is a new setting for Pinnacle Entertainment Group's "Savage Worlds" RPG and will be based on the same rule set.

At the time of this writing, the game has raised $16,247 of its $5,000 goal. So far the campaign has unlocked two of its stretch goals: a PDF for fill-in character sheet forms and PDFs for pre-generated archetype characters.

Additionally, varying pledge levels include an assortment of different rewards including a set of eight 28mm-sized miniatures, a set of 20 Bennies (ceramic poker chips with custom art), a set of seven dice and more. Also, the 192-page adventure book will be available digitally in a PDF format and physically in softcover or hardcover. It is important to note that a copy of the "Savage Worlds" core rules is necessary to play and sold separately for $9.99.
