WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Good Doctor Season 4, Episode 18, "Forgive or Forget," which aired Monday on ABC.

Season 4 of The Good Doctor has put Lea and Shaun's relationship through the wringer. After starting the season finding their footing as a couple, their lives were thrown for a loop when Lea found out she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she lost the baby, and now, the couple is doing their best to move on.

The show's latest episode, "Forgive or Forget," sees Shaun plan a camping trip for him and Lea, something way out of his comfort zone. He feels like to get out of the funk they're in, they need to try something new. And despite having some reservations, Lea agrees to go, and they find a nearby site to camp after being turned away at Yosemite National Park.

The trip starts well, with Shaun and Lea doing their best to bond amid the activities of the other campers. However, when it starts to rain and water leaks into the tent, Lea decides she's done and goes to sleep in the car. She wakes up the next morning to find Shaun sitting by himself on a bench. Feeling guilty, Lea tells him they can still go on the hike he planned before heading home.

Once again, the couple begins to bond, so much so, Lea wants to take a picture of Shaun on the trail to capture the moment. But as Shaun tries to find his footing on a log, he falls, severely injuring his ankle. Far away from the campsite, Lea has no choice but to operate on her boyfriend if he wants any chance of saving his foot.

With Shaun giving her direction, Lea uses the items at their disposal, including a bottle of tequila, to cut him open and repair his ankle. She's holding steady initially, but after Shaun loses consciousness from blood loss, hope seems lost. Fortunately, being the resilient person she is, Lea buckles down and finishes the procedure before any permanent damage is done to Shaun's foot.

As the couple heads to a nearby hospital in an ambulance, the EMT tells Shaun he's lucky to have someone like Lea at his side. Shaun agrees, and it's clear at this moment that despite everything that's gone on, the couple hasn't forgotten what they mean to each other. They still have a long road to recover, but after the event in the woods, there isn't anything Shaun and Lea can't handle if they're together.

Created by David Shore, The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore, Antonio Thomas, Richard Schiff, Paige Spara, Fiona Gubelmann, Will Yun Lee and Christina Chang. New episodes air Mondays at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC.
