We've known that Polaris was pregnant for most of Season 1 of Fox's The Gifted, but she didn't have a belly to show for it yet. Now, when Season 2 of the X-Men series returns this fall, six months will have passed since the first season's finale, which means that the mutant will be on the cusp of giving birth when next we see her.

Entertainment Weekly shared an exclusive first look image of Season 2, featuring Polaris in a secure establishment meant to make sure the delivery goes off as easily as possible. But there's no telling what sort of power-surge the birth might trigger. "We saw at the end of last season that the baby really affected her powers and made her stronger," actress Emma Dumont said. "We don’t know what this labor will do."

The picture also features a new mutant by the name of Reeva Payge (played by Grace Byers), a new player in Season 2 that is part of a group known as the Inner Circle. Witch such a name, it's likely that this group is actually part of the Hellfire Club, which was teased at the end of Season 1.

We should find more about The Gifted's Season 2 during the Fox series upcoming panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego next week.
