The Flash’s Danielle Panabaker Looks to Threat of Dominators

As the Arrowverse moves closer to the crossover bringing together Green Arrow, The Flash, Supergril and the Legends of Tomorrow, the threat posed by the invading alien Dominators looms large for the heroes.

For Team Flash, dealing with a menace from outer space will be a significant step up from the villains they typically face.

“The biggest fear for Caitlin and for Team Flash is how powerful they are and how much of an unknown they are,” Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlin Snow, tells Entertainment Weekly. “We’re only getting used to dealing with metahumans with these powers that have generally come from the particle accelerator explosion, or Doctor Alchemy, and those are formulas we’re a little more used to. Having these guys come in from who knows where, the biggest question mark for all of them is starting to figure out how they’re going to battle them.”

Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim has said the crossover will be “very, very faithful” to the late 1980s DC comic miniseries “Invasion!,” in which the gene-manipulating Dominators assembled a coalition of alien races to invade Earth, with the apparent goal of eliminating the threat posed by metahumans. Unknown to the other members of the alien alliance, the Dominators intended to harness the metagene and create their own army of metahumans.

Although the scope of the Dominators’ plans in the crossover hasn’t been revealed, the Arrowverse is certainly chock-full of metahumans, including Panabaker’s Caitlin Snow, who’s dealing with a bone-chilling crisis of her own.

The Arrowverse crossover begins Tuesday, Nov. 29, on The CW with “The Flash,” and continues Wednesday, Nov. 30, on “Arrow,” and Thursday, Dec. 1 on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.”
