The upcoming seventh season of The Flash may boast the return of a menace from past episodes.

At CCXP Worlds 2020, Danielle Nicolet -- who plays Cecile Horton -- teased the appearance but was coy about who the villain is.

"You know we're not allowed to tell you secrets about the season," Nicolet said. "But I will say I think it's a reasonable assumption that, yeah we always have time travel, on some level, happening. I mean, I can tell you this: There are going to be some favorites from the past, some bad guys favorites that may be paying a visit or two this season, so I'll leave it up to you to speculate on how they're going to get to us."

Cecile Horton was the Central City District Attorney but stepped down and now runs a specialty law practice focusing on metahuman cases.

Separately, The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace revealed at DC FanDome that Godspeed, the speedster introduced in Season 5, may return -- and that his identity may not be what we saw.

"I don't like spoilers," he explained. "Let's just say there was a certain speedster who wore a white costume, whose clones kept showing up. Really, Team Flash has to deal with that, but we never caught the real guy or girl. Let's just say we might find out that mystery this season."

The Flash had to cut short Season 6 because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, like several of The CW's shows filmed in Vancouver.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. Season 7's premiere date is currently being evaluated by The CW. All six seasons of the series are currently streaming on Netflix.
