WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for "So Long and Goodnight," the latest episode of The Flash.

In The Flash's sixth season, Ralph Dibny was set on a collision course with Sue Dearbon. In the comic books, Ralph and Sue Dibny are married and a happy couple that serves as a source of inspiration when it comes to love in the DC Universe. In fact, other superheroes recognize them as one of the most stable relationships in their community -- one most of them would be lucky to have. The characters may stand on their own, but they help define one another. This is partly why fans were so eager to see Sue Dearbon finally make her Arrowverse debut after Ralph first appeared.

However, when she arrived on the scene, she wasn't what anyone expected -- Ralph included. In fact, Sue is a skilled cat burglar who has her own ax to grind with Black Hole. She's devious, but she has a heart underneath it all. Last we saw them, Ralph and Sue were at odds -- and they pretty much hated one another. But now, Sue finally returns to Central City in "So Long and Goodnight" and, upon her reunion with Ralph, the two show they are clearly fated to fall in love with one another.

When she first appeared in the Season 6 episode "A Girl Named Sue," Sue Dearbon showed she was no damsel in distress. Not only did she have skills of her own, she also proved deceitful, joining forces with Ralph just to play him and prove she was, first and foremost, on her own side. This betrayal drove an unfortunate wedge between the two. But still, the two were clearly attracted to one another -- even if neither was willing to admit it. The duo had a Batman/Catwoman vibe, and although Sue left at the end of the episode, Ralph was far from done chasing her.

Now, in "So Long and Goodnight," Sue finally returns to Star City, and Ralph is, of course, on her trail. Before long, the two characters are reunited, and despite their rivalry, they end up mending fences. While Sue is planning her next bank robbery, Ralph surprises her and interrupts the job. Here Sue demonstrates she does have a softer side when she apologizes for betraying Ralph. In fact, she even throws him a bone to help in Team Flash's battle with Black Hole.

The reunion between the two characters may be brief, but it's very important to the evolution of their relationship. With this conversation, Ralph and Sue come to understand and respect each other, and they grow closer as a result.

Every time the two of them share the screen, the chemistry is off the charts, and it's the case yet again in "So Long and Goodnight." The time we spend with both characters is always relatively short, and we hope The Flash will soon make Sue a recurring part of the cast -- not just because we want her on Team Flash, but because we want her on Team Ralph and Sue.

In a season filled with darkness, relationship woes and plenty of drama, Ralph and Sue are a welcomed bright spot. They already represent everything their comic book counterparts do: they are relationship goals -- even if they aren't even a couple yet.

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet and Hartley Sawyer.
