UPDATE: Funko has revealed its range of figures based on The Flash, confirming Wonder Woman's role in the film. This article has subsequently been updated to reflect the official announcement.

The Flash will include a cameo by Wonder Woman, if the upcoming DC Universe blockbuster's Funko Pop! toy line is anything to go by.

An image shared by the toy manufacture on Twitter includes a depiction of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, confirming her role in the film. Whether she features as a prominent supporting character or a cameo remains to be seen. That said, DC Studios is yet to officially confirm that Wonder Woman will show up in The Flash and Gadot is not officially attached to the project at this stage.

This isn't the first time the Flash Funko Pop! collectibles have potentially spoiled key details about the hotly-anticipated film's plot and characters. The promotional artwork also provides fans a clearer look at several of The Flash's alternate incarnations of Barry Allen. These include the sinister Dark Flash and "Young Barry," who (as his name suggests) is less experienced than his mainstream universe counterpart and sports a makeshift crime-fighting costume.

Is Wonder Woman in The Flash?

It's unclear which of these versions of the Scarlet Speedster Wonder Woman will interact with if she does indeed appear in The Flash. Initial reports indicated that Gadot was locked in for The Flash's ending, appearing alongside Henry Cavill (Superman), Sasha Calle (Supergirl) and Michael Keaton (Batman). Since then, sources close to the production claim that the film's finale has changed, with Gadot, Cavill, Calle and Keaton all dropped in favor of a mystery character with ties to the DCU's past. Fans will have to wait until The Flash's June 2023 premiere to find out which ending ultimately made the cut.

They'll also have to hold out a little longer to learn the final fate of Gadot's Wonder Woman. The Israeli actor's DC stint appeared to be over when Wonder Woman 3 was canceled in December 2022, however, DC Studios co-chair and co-CEO James Gunn recently indicated that this may not be the case after all. Gunn dismissed suggestions that he and fellow DC Studios head Peter Safran "booted" Gadot from the DCU, although he declined to elaborate further. What's more, Gadot is expected to cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, adding to the confusion surrounding the status of her incarnation of Wonder Woman.

The Flash races into cinemas on June 16, 2023.
