Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is headed for a trip to Gorilla City in search of of Earth-2's Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) in the next episode of "The Flash," and to mark the occasion The CW has released a set of photos that give the show's fans their first glimpse of Solovar, the main leader of the primate metropolis.

While none of the pics provide a full body view of the highly intelligent ape, voiced by genre veteran Keith David, they do give a sense of Solovar's sheer physicality.

From the looks of things, Solovar may well prove to be an immovable object to Barry's unstoppable (speed) force. But all this conflict might well come at the instigation of that other great ape of the DC Universe, and frequent Flash foe, Gorilla Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov).

As comic fans know, Solovar is a long-time nemesis for Grodd, but exactly how “The Flash” will present Gorilla City, and the dynamic between Grodd and Solovar, remains to be seen. What we do know is that the story will apparently wide-scale enough that it demands two whole episodes to fully do it justice.

“Attack on Gorilla City” airs Tuesday, February 21 on The CW. “The Flash” stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin as Joe West.
