While there has yet to be an official announcement regarding Superman & Lois getting a fourth season, The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace has an idea for such a season that brings over other heroes from the Arrowverse.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wallace explained that while writing The Flash's upcoming series finale, he didn't come up with a definitive closing chapter for the Arrowverse. "I still am hopeful that the Arrowverse is not over," Wallace said. "I've approached it as The Flash is over and I want to make the best Flash series finale as possible. I'm going to have lunch with [Superman & Lois showrunner] Todd [Helbing] in the next couple weeks. And I'm going to tell him, 'If you get a fourth season, you've got to sneak some Arrowverse in there. You are now carrying the torch.'"

This isn't the first time the possibility of an Arrowverse hero being integrated into Superman & Lois' universe has been brought up, as Helbing -- who is also a veteran showrunner for The Flash -- talked about how he would introduce Supergirl in it in 2022. However, he also said it would be a different version than Melissa Benoist's Girl of Steel. "Yeah, it would not be the Supergirl from the Arrowverse, it would be our version so we would invent a new backstory for her," he explained at the time. "The same way that we did with Lucy [Lane], General Lane, and John Diggle, the same way with John Diggle. They may be their doppelganger and they may look exactly the same. But it would be a completely different story."

The Arrowverse Reaches Its End - For Now

It was also teased by Arrowverse veteran and John Diggle/Spartan actor David Ramsey that Superman & Lois could save the franchise, with Ramsey recalling how Wallace called him with pitch to end Diggle's story arc in the Arrowverse shows due to it coming to an end. Ramsey concluded by saying that since Superman & Lois exists on another Earth, the idea is that there's possibly a world where the audience can explore the Scarlet Speedster or just his alter ego, Barry Allen.

On The Flash's side of things, Oliver Queen/Green Arrow actor Stephen Amell recently delved into why he didn't want his last outing as the Battling Bowman to be in the series finale, noting that everything about said finale "should be in service of The Flash and [Barry Allen's] story."

The series finale of The Flash airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. on The CW. Superman & Lois returns Tuesday at 8 p.m. on The CW.
