The CW has revealed the first images of Godspeed, the long-rumored villain of The Flash Season 5. In the two images released, the villain dons his pearly white speedster suit and strikes a menacing pose.
Rumors of Godspeed's inclusion in Season 5 of The Flash began back in February, when word of an episode titled "Godspeed" first surfaced. Today's images of the character are the first officially released by the network.
Godspeed first made his full debut in The Flash #3 by Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico. The speedster is actually August Heart, a colleague of Barry Allen's from the Central City Police Department. The two became friends after bonding over major losses in their lives.
August first develops his powers when a Speed Force storm hits the police station's crime lab. Shortly after, August discovers he is connected to the Speed Force much in the same way as The Flash. The two team up for a short time, until August inevitably betrays Barry.
Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
