Barry Allen is finally getting a key piece of his superhero suit when The Flash Season 5 bursts onto the scene. A trailer for the fifth season of The Flash reveals that Barry will finally get his Flash Ring during the season. The trailer was released today during CBR's coverage of The CW panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego.

Barry Allen’s Flash Ring is as old as the character himself. First introduced in Showcase #4 all the way back in 1956, the Flash Ring is a little piece of ingenuity cooked up by Barry to make suiting up even easier. The ring is a spring-loaded contraption that contains Barry’s costume. Barry then dons his costume (chemically treated to shrink) at super-speed.

The Flash Ring has been a somewhat contentious point over the course of The Flash’s TV run, as the ring is considered among many to be an integral part of the speedster’s suit. News that the ring will be making its way into the television series will no doubt excite long-time viewers. According to the panel, Nora, Barry's daughter from the future, will deliver the ring to the hero in a situation where he does not have his suit.

The Flash actor Grant Gustin also teased that more superhero suit upgrades are on the way for the Scarlett Speedster. The Flash Executive Producer Todd Helbing revealed that Season 5’s costume will be the most comic-cook accurate incarnation of the suit to date.

Airing Tuesday nights on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
