Ever since she first appeared in the Crisis on Earth-X crossover, Jessica Parker Kennedy's Mystery Girl character had fans talking. As the character made various brief appearances throughout the remainder of Season 4 of The Flash, many fans began the theorize that this girl was actually, somehow, the daughter of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton).
These suspicions were proven correct when Kennedy's speedster character revealed herself to her family at the close of Season 4, stating that her name was Nora West-Allen, future daughter of Barry and Iris. But, what we didn't know, until now, is that the character has an alter ego who comes straight from the comics.
During Comic-Con International in San Diego, The CW held a panel with the cast of The Flash where the network premiered the new trailer for Season 4 of the series. In it, Nora Allen-West reveals that, in the future she comes from, she has a superhero codename, given to her by her parents: XS.
In the DC comic books, XS is a speedster character from the future, but one big difference: she's one generation further. In the source material, XS is the alter ego of Jenni Ognats, the granddaughter of Barry Allen. For Season 4 of The Flash however, it seems like the writers decided to streamline to continuity of the Flash Family and make XS the direct daughter of Barry and Iris.
Airing Tuesday nights on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
