Rumors state that The Flash will erase every movie director Zack Snyder has helmed for the DC Extended Universe from its continuity.According to the source known as MyTimeToShineHello on Twitter, The Flash will "erase every movie Snyder has done," including the events of Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman and Justice League. If these rumors are true, it means that Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman will have been completely removed from the DCEU's continuity.RELATED: The Flash Debuts First Bloody Look at Michael Keaton's Batman Suit

Ezra Miller, who will reprise his role as Barry Allen/The Flash, appeared as the character alongside both Cavill and Affleck in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League. While Cavill will not be reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent in The Flash, Affleck is set to appear as his version of Bruce Wayne/Batman, though this will be his last outing as the Dark Knight. Affleck won't be the only Batman in the film, however, as Michael Keaton's return was announced in June 2020, who will reprise his role from 1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns.

Man of Steel might no longer be considered canon in the DCEU, but it was recently announced that two characters from the film will appear in The Flash as well, including Michael Shannon's General Zod and Antje Traue's Faora-Ul. Sasha Calle will also make her DCEU debut as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.

Director Andy Muschietti confirmed in October of this year that filming had officially wrapped on The Flash. Around that time, Muschietti confirmed during a panel at DC FanDome in China that the upcoming film will hold its fair share of surprises. "We can tell you there are surprises, we cannot reveal what they are," the director said. "But it will probably blow your socks off...The less we talk about it the better. There's excitement behind the cameras about those surprises. You better not know them until you see them on the big screen."

While details surrounding the plot remain scarce, The Flash will deal heavily with the multiverse and explore alternate realities, indicated by the return of Keaton as well as an evil doppelgänger version of The Flash, which will also be played by Miller. In an interview last year, Muschietti explained that this storyline will be the foundation for future movies about DC properties.

"This movie is a bit of a hinge in the sense that it presents a story that implies a unified universe where all the cinematic iterations that we've seen before are valid," Muschietti said at the time. "It's inclusive in the sense that it is saying all that you've seen exists, and everything that you will see exists, in the same unified multiverse."

The Flash races into theaters Nov. 4, 2022.
