Ronnie Raymond is definitely returning this season to "The Flash." The question is which Ronnie Raymond.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed Robbie Amell will reprise his role as Firestorm this winter on the CW drama. However, remains unknown how he'll appear, considering the Earth-1 version of the character apparently died in Season Two.

Amell himself said in November that, “I think that version of Ronnie is dead because he sacrificed himself to save the city.” Of course, the Arrowverse is no stranger to alternate universes and timelines -- and audiences have already seen the Earth 2 version of Ronnie, the evil Deathstorm. That one was killed, too, though.

“You know, there is always Earth-3, Earth-4, Earth 5 …,”Amell said previously.

Ronnie Raymond is an old hand at surprise returns. The fiance (and later husband) of Caitlin Snow, and an engineer at S.T.A.R. Labs, he was presumed killed in the particle accelerator explosion. However, he instead had merged with Martin Stein to become the meta-human Firestorm. He was killed in Season Two while saving Central City from the singularity.

Returning Tuesday, Jan. 24, on The CW, "The Flash" stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin and Keiynan Lonsdale.
