The highly-anticipated superhero film has already been praised by the likes of Tom Cruise and previous Superman actor Henry Cavill before its release. While the film has been riddled with controversy for years, most of which stem from Ezra Miller's problematic off-set behavior, both Barbara and Andy Muschietti have expressed confidence that DC fans will love the movie. Talking about Miller, Barbara claimed the actor's questionable decisions in real life didn't affect production, and praised their performance as both versions of Barry Allen in the film. "I have to say, during our shoot, during principal photography, their commitment to the role was something like we've never seen, and the discipline, the work, the willingness, physical, mental, and just wanting to go beyond the pale," she said.

Andy Muschietti added recently suggested that no one would be able to play Barry like Miller. Talking about a potential sequel, he stated, "I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as [Ezra Miller] did... The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. And... the two Barry's – it feels like a character that was made for them."

In addition to serving as an origin story for Barry Allen, The Flash will also bring two iterations of Batman into the mix. Actors Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will both be reprising their roles as the Caped Crusader in the film. While the director previously talked about a direct sequel to The Flash, many fans also think he may be in the running to direct The Brave and the Bold, which will be the first Batman movie in James Gunn's DC Universe. When asked about the upcoming Batman movie, Muschietti responded, "Oh, that's... I don't think I can talk to that...yet."

The Flash arrives in theaters on June 16, 2023.
