Upcoming DC Studios blockbuster The Flash will feature a major Arrowverse cameo, if a new report is to be believed. The report comes via established scooper KC Walsh. It claims that The Flash uses Barry Allen's (Ezra Miller) connection to the extra-dimensional Speed Force as a springboard for "cameos galore," including one by a character from The CW's Arrowverse franchise. While Walsh's report declines to mention exactly who this character is, their brief appearance will supposedly "be what everyone talks about" following The Flash's release. That said, as DC Studios is yet to publicly comment on the report, its worth taking the report with a grain of salt.Related: The Flash Promo Art Reveals New Looks at Batman and Supergirl's Costumes

The online rumor mill has speculated about the possibility of a DC Universe/Arrowverse crossover in The Flash for several years now. Notably, unnamed sources close to the production allegedly stated in mid-2021 that The CW's Flash, Grant Gustin, was locked in to reprise his role in the DCU blockbuster. Gustin has since denied that this is the case, responding with an unambiguous "no" when asked if he will make a cameo in the movie. The star also said that he is excited to see The Flash when it comes out, and highlighted the return of Michael Keaton's Batman as the aspect of the film he finds most intriguing.

Has DC Studios Changed The Flash's Ending?

The Flash's alleged connection to the Arrowverse isn't the only tantalizing tidbit covered in Walsh's report. Walsh also commented on The Flash's ending, claiming that previous buzz about this being changed during post-production is indeed accurate. According to Walsh, the DCU blockbuster's finale is now "more vague" than before and contains a cameo that will confound fans' expectations. It's unclear how (or even if) this tracks with previous reports that The Flash's revised ending centers around "a character from a long time ago in the DC world."

Walsh's other key kernel of Flash info relates to the movie's supposed ties to another legacy DC Extended Universe project, Zack Snyder's Justice League. The scooper indicated that all references to the so-called "Snyder Cut" have seemingly been excised from the latest cut of The Flash, despite both films ostensibly taking place in the same continuity. While this point (like the rest of Walsh's report) remains unverified, it nevertheless tracks with previous comments by DC Studios co-chair and co-CEO James Gunn, who stated that The Flash "resets many things" as part of the transition from the DCEU to the DCU.

The Flash races into cinemas on June 16, 2023.
