The Flash has cast How To Get Away With Murder star Kendrick Sampson as Dominic Lanse, aka Brainstorm, who will take part in a multi-episode arc. Deadline describes Lanse as "an affable TSA Agent who becomes the unwitting recipient of meta-human powers. Now Dominic bears the gift and curse of reading people’s thoughts, whether he wants to or not."
Based on the character description, it appears that Lanse will be one of the "bus metas," who were created when Barry exited the Speed Force, releasing a wave of Dark Matter. The character will be introduced in next week's midseason finale.
In the comics, Brainstorm gets his powers from his helmet, which enhances his mental prowess. Introduced in Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky's Justice League of America#32, the comic book version of the character can emit power blasts and teleport. Brainstorm was originally a scientist who became an enemy of the Justice League.
In addition to How To Get Away With Murder, Sampson's past credits include The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural. He has also appeared in White Famous, Gracepoint, Rosewood and more.
Starring Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster, The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Keiynan Lonsdale and more.
