WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Flash Season 7, Episode 9, "Timeless," which aired Tuesday on The CW.

One of the most surprising announcements coming to The Flash was the revelation that original series cast members Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh were both ending their respective tenures on the show with Season 7. Cavanagh's latest character, the original Harrison Wells of Earth-1, was resurrected earlier in the season and presumably left to enjoy a much deserved shot at a happy ending, living in a temporal loop with his beloved wife, Tess. And while Wells made a brief, surprise return to help Team Flash with a time-traveling mission, he also helped Cisco Ramon decide to find his own happy exit from Central City.

As Cisco and the rest of Team Flash ponder their next strategy in addressing the newfound Forces and an epic betrayal from Nora, the living personification of the Speed Force, Cisco's longtime girlfriend Kamilla reveals she has received a job offer in San Francisco and is seriously contemplating accepting it. Knowing Cisco's commitment to Team Flash, Kamilla would never ask her boyfriend to join her in leaving Central City, but Cisco is visibly affected by the crossroads his girlfriend is at. And as Barry Allen recruits Wells on a desperate mission to prevent the Forces from coming into existence, the reunion with his old friend and former boss helps inform Cisco's next direction.

Fully embracing his second chance at life and love, Wells is the happiest and most at peace that the rest of Team Flash has ever seen him. Wells attributes his willingness to assist with Barry's time-bending mission and his brighter outlook on the world to his idyllic existence with Tess at his side. These comments clearly strike a chord with Cisco, as he continues to reflect over the crossroads both he and Kamilla are at. They have to decide where to go next with their own relationship, and they both resolve to leave Central City together shortly after Wells returns to his temporal loop.

By leaving for San Francisco with Kamilla, Cisco takes his romantic relationship with her to the next level, which serves as a major growth moment for the character as he steps out of Team Flash's shadow. Despite deeply disagreeing with Barry on how to address the Forces, Cisco made it clear he will always have his best friend's back. Thus, Cisco's split from the team doesn't appear to be acrimonious at this stage and certainly leaves open the possibility for his potential return, perhaps in a distant and temporary capacity, should his old friends require his assistance in the future.

Cisco Ramon has been a vital part of the Arrowverse for years. He's created the Flash's various superhero outfits, designed cutting edge gear to defend Central City and even became his own superhero as Vibe for a time. Having reunited with Kamilla after her imprisonment in the Mirror Universe, Cisco's love for her is stronger than ever and he's more than willing to follow her to the ends of the Earth to keep their romance going. Harrison Wells has finally gotten his happy ending, and it appears, for now, that Cisco and Kamilla will soon follow suit.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. New episodes air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
