With The CW's DC television series The Flash still on hiatus as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, series star Grant Gustin took the opportunity to share an all-black version of the Scarlet Speedster's superhero outfit that was used exclusively for a costume fitting.

The black suit is evidently a proto version of the Flash costume Gustin's Barry Allen debuted in The Flash Season 5, which took a step back from the TV show's trademark leathery aesthetic and opted for a more a more traditional spandex-esque look. In this behind-the-scenes version of the Flash's suit, the gold details pop against the black fabric in a manner that almost resembles Black Adam's outfit.

"I know there's no new Flash for a while, so I thought I’d share this," Gustin wrote on Instagram. "This was from a fitting for the Season 5 suit during our hiatus between Seasons 4 and 5. I have like 30 pictures from this day because I was so excited. I flew to Vancouver for about [four to five hours] fr this fitting and then home to L.A. the same day. This was before they had the actual fabric for the suit, hence the black. After I saw it like this I kinda wanted a black Flash suit though..."

New episodes of The Flash -- which is currently in the midst of Season 6 -- were put on hold following "The Exorcism of Nash Wells," which aired on March 17. After just over a month away from screens, the series returns in just under two weeks on April 21 with  "So Long and Goodnight."
