During CCXP Worlds: A Journey of Hope!'s event, new preview pages for Future State: The Flash #1 were revealed via DC Comics, featuring the Flash Family with unorthodox gear.
Future State: The Flash #1's preview pages feature the speedsters breaking into a villain's lair, with Barry Allen wielding the cold gun of his foe Captain Cold. Max Mercury is seen carrying Weather Wizard's wand, while Impulse has control of Mirror Master's mirror gun. What drives the Flashes to pick up their former enemies' weapons is none other than their fellow speedster Wally West, who has been possessed by a mysterious yet malevolent force.
"With no powers, no backup and no other choice, Barry Allen and the other former Flashes face the deadliest threat they’ve ever encountered—Wally West," the issue's official synopsis reads. "Possessed by an evil force trapped for thousands of years inside the Speed Force, Barry turns to his greatest foes’ weapons to save the young man he loves like a son. In the end, how much will Barry sacrifice to save the former Kid Flash?"
In addition to the Flash family facing off against Wally, a new non-binary Flash named Kid Quick will appear in the storyline. Kid Quick hails from Earth-11 and will make their first appearance in DC's Very Merry Multiverse one-shot.

Dale Eaglesham created its interior art, while Brandon Peterson created its cover. Kaare Andrews illustrated its variant cover. In addition, an ad is also seen promoting Future State's specials focused on Teen Titans and Shazam.
